Top 5 Reasons To Practice Medicine in Phoenix

Just when you thought you wouldn't be able to find a summarized list of the best things about living in Phoenix, you stumbled upon this article! It can be a challenge to decide where to start your next adventure, so we're here to help you out! We've put together a list of five reasons we think you would enjoy living in Phoenix.

If you're a sports fan, you've come to the right place.

In addition to over 200 golf courses and the Phoenix Open, all four major professional sports leagues are represented — the NBA with the Suns, the NFL with the Cardinals, the NHL with the Coyotes, and the MLB with the Diamondbacks. Half of the MLB's teams go to Phoenix for their Spring Training every year. In addition to the previously mentioned sports, there is a NASCAR scene in Phoenix, as well.

You don't have to change your clocks to "spring forward" or "fall back".

Unlike the rest of the country, Arizona decided to forgo Daylight Saving Time, so they have consistent clocks year-round. If you move to Phoenix, you will never have to worry about changing your clock or being early or late for work ever again. If there were no other benefits to living in Phoenix (thankfully there are), this would be the one reason we would pack up and move tomorrow.

There's hardly ever any traffic.

We know that there are people who enjoy driving, but does anybody actually enjoy sitting in traffic? If you don't like driving or traffic, Phoenix might be the place for you. The city is laid out like a giant grid, only running north to south and east to west. This makes it easy to get where you're going, and you may not even need a GPS! In addition, Phoenix has 20 miles of light rail transportation, and the city is bike-friendly. As a result, Phoenix has the lightest traffic of any other major city in the United States.

Traveling is easy and quick — you can be in a different state within hours.

You can get to any surrounding states within hours, whether that's northern Arizona, California, Mexico, or Las Vegas, NV. This gives you significantly more activities to do on the weekends, in the event that you get bored and run out of things to do in Phoenix (which is unlikely, but we're sure it has happened before). If you're really interested in traveling in your free time, Phoenix is a good place to be!

The culture is vast, and includes many different activities.

With a multitude of different cultures comes a multitude of different activities to do, from ballet to Broadway. You can experience everything at the Arizona Opera Company, Ballet Arizona, Frank Lloyd Wright's Gammage Auditorium, and Cricket Pavilion (which is apparently the best outdoor performance center there is). Not too far away, Scottsdale also has an 'Old Downtown' full of art galleries and design boutiques.
