The Department of Pathology at The George Washington University (GW) is seeking a mid-career academic surgical pathologist to join our collegial and growing team in the heart of Washington, DC. This is an outstanding opportunity for a pathologist with leadership potential and a strong academic background to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative academic medical center.


Position Highlights:

  • Faculty appointment with integrated clinical and academic responsibilities
  • Enjoy a wide variety of cases with exposure to GI, breast, GU, lung, Digital, Cyto, and GYN pathology. The department serves a diverse patient population, offering exposure to rare and interesting cases!
  • 40-hour workweek with some scheduling flexibility and dedicated academic time
  • Individual office space while working with a highly collaborative team with excellent faculty retention and a strong culture of mentorship and professional growth.
  • Opportunity to work closely with residents and fellows in both diagnostic and educational capacities


Qualifications:

  • Degree:MD/DO
  • Certifications:Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment
  • Licensure:Must be eligible for DC licensure
  • Skillset:Fellowship training and/or experience in general surgical pathology and/or a surgical pathology subspecialty or cytopathology
  • Experience:Mid-career
