Position Highlights

  • Full-Time Advanced Practice Clinician (APC)
  • Primary Night Shift (with occasional day shifts)
  • Inpatient care for pre- and post-operative heart surgery patients in CCU & Telemetry
  • Part of a completely APP-run service

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient cardiac surgery care in CCU & Telemetry
  • Perform/assist with diagnostic & therapeutic bedside procedures
  • Ensure clear transfer of clinical information between nurses, staff, and physicians
  • Maintain communication across clinical services

Role Expectations

Assessment & Management

  • Conduct full histories & physicals
  • Order/interpret diagnostic tests
  • Act as first responder for patient status changes & resuscitation needs

Diagnosis

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on diagnoses
  • Formulate differential diagnoses & order interventions

Plan of Care

  • Develop evidence-based, individualized care plans
  • Implement and modify treatment plans
  • Prescribe diagnostic and therapeutic interventions

Communication & Collaboration

  • Partner with patients, families, and staff for seamless care
  • Ensure timely, compliant, and accurate documentation

Professional Practice

  • Mentor students and junior colleagues
  • Stay engaged in research and evidence-based practice
  • Maintain CEUs & professional memberships

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree
  • National Board Certification as an Acute Care NP or Physician Assistant
  • BLS Certification
