A private, non-profit, hospital designation level II trauma center serving a rural tri-county area of 170,000 in northeastern New York is seeking a BC/BE Adult or Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist. The hospital is a regional tertiary center that offers high technology and is JCAHO accredited and one of eight state-designated Regional Resource Centers for Emergency Management.
PSYCHIATRIST INCENTIVES:
ABOUT THE LOCATION: Located in the Northern region of New York, this area is great for families with affordable housing, and excellent public and private schools. Montreal, Burlington, Vermont and Lake Placid are all within an hour’s drive.

PSYCHIATRIST INCENTIVES:
- Employed model – hospital employee
- Competitive salary (reflecting the median figures from MGMA)
- On-call coverage 1:4 weekends (involves rounding on 2 units)
- Weeknight call is from home 1:4
- Loan repayment for those eligible
- Support staff including 2 NP’s, social workers, mental health counselors and nurses
- Team of highly regarded and respected physicians
- 2 Psych units – Adult and Child/Adolescent
- Complex cases – most are admitted on an involuntary basis
- Length of patient stay is 5-7 days
- The position is 90% psychopharmacology and 10% psychotherapy

- Comfortable treating a variety of psychiatric conditions including: major depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, PTSD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and others
- Cross-covering on each of the units when someone is on vacation or away from the hospital
