Our client is one of the
major spine centers in Rhode Island and is a
major teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, known for its advanced technology, including
state-of-the-art imaging equipment and tools for minimally invasive procedures. This client is currently seeking an
academic Physiatrist to provide comprehensive management of spinal disorders and to teach Neurosurgery/Neurology/Orthopedic residents and medical students.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PHYSIATRIST
- Primary Management of Intrathecal Pump Program
- Physical evaluation and management of spinal conditions, using evidence-based nationally accepted guidelines
- Thorough and efficient documentation of clinical visits, procedures, telephone encounters, and maintenance of patient medical records required
- Timely communication with patient regarding results of diagnostic studies required
- Inpatient consultations, as appropriate
- Active participation in interventional spine procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic blocks, intrathecal therapies,radio frequency ablations, and spinal cord stimulation required
- Teaching of Neurosurgery/Neurology/Orthopedic residents, as well as medical students required
- Direct supervision/oversight and education/training of a mid-level provider assigned to physician
- Close collaboration with RN, MA ,and administrative team
- Participation in a rotating call schedule
- Participation/attendance in the weekly multi-disciplinary Spine Conferene
- Participation in research is highly encouraged
- Participation in regional, national, and international pain/spine societies and regular attendance at annual spine or pain conferences is strongly encouraged
- Participates in community and media outreach initiatives
- Participates in building spine program via networking with primary care, specialist, and CAM practitioners at the hospital and community level
REQUIREMENTS OF A PM&R PHYSICIAN
- Fellowship training from an ACGME accredited pain fellowship is desired
- Maintenance of primary and secondary board certification is required (PM&R/Pain, Anesthesiology/Pain)
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills required
- Must be authorized to work in the US. Unable to sponsor Visa candidates at this time.
